Devotion to the Holy Face of our Lord is not new in the Church. From the early centuries of Christianity there exist traditions that Jesus had
left His image on a piece of cloth.  One such cloth in particular, which is preserved in St. Peter’s to this day, has played a vital role in the
history of the devotion to the Holy Face: the Veil of Veronica.
